Atozarashi, a process whereby starch and other impurities are removed through a special cleaning process after weaving.
For Shinto Towel's Yukine line, they spend twice the effort on their atozarashi process in order to harvest the maximize natural absorbency of cotton.
By combining white cotton fibre for the warp and various colours for the weft, they create designs reminiscent of earth, water or fresh greens peeking out from beneath fallen snow.
